The Research in/within/ the School Routines About the English Language Learning
O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar os resultados de uma pesquisa na área da educação, que teve dentre seus objetivos compreender o papel do inglês no cenário social atual e relatar a visão que os estudantes possuem sobre seu aprendizado.Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa desenvolvida por meio de um “mergulho” na sala de aula de uma turma do sétimo ano, para observar o cotidiano escolar. Os dados foram produzidos por meio de observação de aulas e uma entrevista semiestruturada com um grupo de doze alunos da turma citada. Concluímos que os alunos acreditam que o aprendizado do inglês agrega valor à trajetória escolar deles, e pode ajudá-los quando chegar o momento de se inserirem no mercado de trabalho.

Abstract:
The present paper aims at presenting the results of a research in the Education field. One of the objectives of the research was to understand the role of the English language in today society and to report the view the students share about learning it. It is a qualitative research and it was carried out by a “plunge into” the classroom of a seventh year students, in order to observe their school routine. The data was produced by observation of the lessons and a semi structured interview with a group of twelve students. We reached the conclusion that our participants believe that learning the English language is considered an asset to their academic life and that the language mastery can even help them in the future when it is time to enter the job market.
