THE PHYSICAL CAPACITIES NECESSARY FOR POLICE WORK: A STUDY IN THE MILITARY POLICE OF PARANÁ
Visando entender a dinâmica do trabalho policial e as capacidades físicas necessárias para o desempenho das atividades diárias do Policial Militar do Paraná, este trabalho teve como objetivo principal identificar as capacidades físicas que a literatura traz como essenciais para o desempenho das atividades policias e a sua relação com as várias funções que hoje o Policial militar do Paraná executa. Para isso, foi utilizado uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, buscando conhecer a perspectiva do policial sobre as atividades que executa no dia-a-dia de sua rotina de trabalho, seja administrativa ou operacional. A pesquisa é explanatória, buscando analisar o problema e estabelecer relações com o fenômeno estudado. Para a coleta de dados, foi utilizado o questionário como estratégia de pesquisa, pois esse instrumento permite obter dados de forma mais rápida sobre o tema, levando em consideração a vivência do Policial Militar. A partir das 89 respostas referentes ao questionário e da revisão de literatura, concluímos que as capacidades físicas elencadas como importantes para o trabalho policial são a força de membros superiores, resistência muscular localizada, resistência anaeróbica, coordenação, agilidade, flexibilidade, velocidade, força de membros inferiores e resistência aeróbica e que há algumas diferenças nas capacidades físicas necessárias para o trabalho administrativo, sendo a força estática mais utilizada do que no trabalho operacional, este por sua vez utiliza uma gama maior de capacidades físicas. Nesse sentido, entendemos que é necessário avaliar as capacidades físicas necessárias para cada função pois elas variam de acordo com a atividade desempenhada. Dessa forma, esperamos que, com mais pesquisas futuras referentes ao tema, poderemos avançar na melhoria da eficiência laboral e da qualidade de vida do policial.

Abstract:
Aiming to understand the dynamics of police work and the physical capacities necessary for the performance of the daily activities of the Military Police of Paraná, this work had as main objective to identify the physical capacities that the literature brings as essential for the performance of police activities and their relationship with the various functions that today the Military Police of Paraná performs. For this, a qualitative research was used, seeking to know the policeman's perspective on the activities he performs in his day-to-day work routine, whether administrative or operational. The research is explanatory, seeking to analyze the problem and establish relationships with the studied phenomenon. For data collection, the questionnaire was used as a research strategy, as this instrument allows obtaining data more quickly on the topic, taking into account the experience of the Military Police. From the 89 responses to the questionnaire and the literature review, we conclude that the physical abilities listed as important for police work are the strength of upper limbs, localized muscular resistance, anaerobic resistance, coordination, agility, flexibility, speed, strength lower limbs and aerobic resistance and that there are some differences in the physical capacities needed for administrative work, with static force being more used than in operational work, this in turn uses a wider range of physical capacities. In this sense, we understand that it is necessary to evaluate the physical capacities necessary for each function, as they vary according to the activity performed. Thus, we hope that, with more future research on the topic, we will be able to advance in improving the work efficiency and quality of life of the police. -
