TESTE DO PEZINHO AMPLIADO NO SUS – EXAME PASSARÁ A RASTREAR MAIS DE 50 DOENÇAS RARAS
A triagem neonatal sanguínea é conhecida popularmente como teste do pezinho (TP) e é uma das medidas adotadas pela rede de saúde pública visando o diagnóstico de doenças congênitas e a redução da mortalidade infantil, o teste é obrigatório e gratuito em todo território brasileiro. Logo nos primeiros dias de vida, o teste atualmente identifica até 6 diferentes doenças genéticas, metabólicas e infecciosas. Com a necessidade de uma maior abrangência de doenças consideradas mais raras, o Ministério da Saúde através do congresso nacional aprovou uma lei de ampliação do teste na rede pública de saúde, auxiliando muitos pacientes no diagnóstico e encaminhando para um tratamento eficaz, reduzindo assim a taxa de mortalidade infantil e o possível desenvolvimento de sequelas. O presente trabalho objetiva a realização de uma revisão bibliográfica acerca da triagem neonatal na rede de saúde pública atual e a ampliada, mostrando a importância dos novos diagnósticos para a vida de muitos pacientes.

Abstract:
Blood neonatal screening is popularly known as the heel prick test and is one of the measures adopted by the public health network aimed at diagnosing congenital diseases and reducing infant mortality, the test is mandatory and free throughout Brazil. In the very first days of life, the test currently identifies up to 6 different genetic, metabolic and infectious diseases. With the need for a greater coverage of rarer diseases, the Ministry of Health, through the national congress, approved a law to expand the test in the public health network, helping many patients in the diagnosis and referring them to effective treatment, thus reducing the rate infant mortality and the possible development of sequelae. The present work aims to carry out a literature review on neonatal screening in the current and expanded public health network, showing the importance of new diagnoses for the lives of many patients.
