TERECÔ, TAMBOR DA MATA, MATA ZOMBANA: LITERATURA ANTROPOLÓGICA E AGENCIAMENTO NAS TRAMAS DA ENCANTARIA MARANHENSE
As inserções das matrizes africana e indígena na história do Brasil vêm sendo pensada de maneiras distintas em diferentes tempos históricos, os postulados que norteiam tais reflexões nos informam das transformações sociais decorrentes das várias formas de conflito racial inseridos na dinâmica social. As novas possibilidades que esta temática alcança na produção acadêmica esta intimamente ligada às transformações sociais ocorridas no Brasil. Neste sentido, os estudos sobre religiões afro-brasileiras se inscrevem neste contexto como indicador de uma demanda social que aponta para revisões históricas sobre o papel dos negros e indígenas na formação social brasileira. Neste artigo discutiremos como o terecô, nome dado a encantaria de Codó-MA, vem sendo representado no campo dos estudos sobre as religiões afro-brasileiras. A construção do tema para a antropologia e o interesse do grande público demonstram as representações que se criaram sobre os poderes sobrenaturais daquela região que sem dúvida é local de forte tradição religiosa afro-brasileira.

Abstract:
The insertions of the African and indigenous matrices in the history of Brazil have been thought of in different ways in different historical times, the postulates that guide such reflections inform us of the social transformations resulting from the various forms of racial conflict inserted in the social dynamics. The new possibilities that this theme achieves in academic production is closely linked to the social transformations that have occurred in Brazil. In the sense, studies on afro-brazilian religions are inscribed in this context as an indicator of a social demand that points to historical reviews on the role of blacks and indigenous people in Brazilian social formation. In this article we will discuss how terecô, the name given to the encantaria of Codó-MA, has been represented in the field of studies on afro-brazilian religions. The construction of the theme for anthropology and the interest of the general public demonstrate the representations that were created about the supernatural powers of that region, which is undoubtedly a place of strong afro-brazilian religious tradition.
