TERAPIA COMBINADA DE BUDESONIDA/FORMOTEROL NA ASMA: IMPACTO CLÍNICO, FUNCIONAL E ECONÔMICO NO SUS

Este estudo analisa o impacto da terapia combinada budesonida/formoterol na qualidade de vida de pacientes com asma, com base em evidências científicas recentes e no relatório técnico da CONITEC. A pesquisa demonstrou que a combinação apresenta eficácia superior à monoterapia em termos de controle de sintomas, redução de exacerbações e melhora da função pulmonar. Além disso, a terapia revelou-se bem tolerada e associada a maior adesão pelos pacientes. Foram avaliados estudos clínicos, econômicos e populacionais que confirmam a relevância dessa abordagem terapêutica, inclusive no contexto do SUS. A análise reforça a viabilidade da incorporação dessa combinação como tratamento de primeira linha em casos de asma persistente. O trabalho conclui que a budesonida/formoterol representa um avanço terapêutico relevante, com impactos positivos na saúde individual e coletiva, além de potenciais benefícios econômicos ao sistema público de saúde brasileiro.

  • Abstract: This study analyzes the impact of the budesonide/formoterol combination therapy on the quality of life of asthma patients, based on recent scientific evidence and the CONITEC technical report. The research showed that the combination is more effective than monotherapy in controlling symptoms, reducing exacerbations, and improving lung function. Furthermore, the therapy proved to be well-tolerated and associated with greater treatment adherence. Clinical, economic, and population-based studies confirmed the relevance of this therapeutic strategy, including within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). The analysis supports the feasibility of incorporating this combination as a first-line treatment for persistent asthma. The study concludes that budesonide/formoterol represents a significant therapeutic advance, with positive impacts on individual and public health, and potential economic benefits for Brazil’s public health system.
