TENDÊNCIA GENÉTICA DE TOUROS GIR LEITEIRO DE CENTRAIS DE INSEMINAÇÃO PARA AS CARACTERISTICAS DE CONFORMAÇÃO DO SISTEMA MAMÁRIO
A seleção dos animais é muito
importante para a eficiência produtiva de um
rebanho, a partir da avaliação genética das
características de conformação corporal que
são de grande valor no melhoramento genético
da raça. Assim, o presente estudo avaliou 73
touros da raça Gir de diferentes centros de coleta
de semên, com ano de nascimento de 1987 a
2012. O Spand Transmitting Animal (STA) da
conformação corporal do sistema mamário:
inserção anterior de úbere, largura do úbere
posterior, profundidade de úbere, comprimento
de tetos e diâmetro de teto. As características
do sistema mamário evoluem de acordo com
a necessidade da seleção ao longo dos anos, sendo uma ferramenta importante para uma maior produtividade da raça Gir Leiteiro.

Abstract:
The selection of animals is very important for the productive efficiency
of a herd, from the genetic evaluation of body conformation characteristics that are of
great value within the genetic breeding of the breed. Thus, the present study evaluated
data from 73 bulls of the Gir dairy breed from different semen collection centers, with
year of birth from 1987 to 2012. The Spand Transmitting Animal (STA) of the body
conformation of the mammary system: anterior udder insertion, posterior udder width,
udder depth, teats length and teat diameter. Data were collected from 8 catalogs from
2010 to 2015 of 3 insemination centers. The characteristics of the mammary system
evolve according to the need of selection over the years, being an important tool for a
higher productivity of the Gir dairy breed.
