TEMPORALIDADES FOTOGRÁFICAS EM MARROM VAN DYKE: MODOS DE FAZER E DE PENSAR
A fotografia se relaciona intimamente com o tempo desde o instante
do clique, passando pelo seu processamento, até o momento de apreensão da
imagem pelo espectador e sua duração quanto objeto. A partir de imagens de
ambientes escolares esvaziados durante a Pandemia de Covid-19, este
trabalho trata sobre a temporalidade da imagem fotográfica híbrida, que
conjuga técnicas contemporâneas com técnicas antigas. Provavelmente
recorrendo aos processos fotográficos do século XIX estaríamos impregnando
de finitude as imagens digitais que a princípio não teriam fim numa tentativa de
resgate da aura. Além disso, a temporalidade que une passado e presente em
uma única imagem, através de hibridismos entre técnicas fotográficas antigas e
técnicas contemporâneas, torna a imagem uma espécie de objeto onde
acontece um anacronismo controlado. Saber como produzir imagens usando a
técnica de Marrom Van Dyke dá aos artistas a liberdade de determinar, entre
outras coisas, a duração daquela imagem.

Abstract:
Photography is intimately related to time from the moment of the
click, through its processing, to the moment when the image is captured by the
spectator and its duration as an object. Despite this being a topic with several
possibilities of analysis, the approach of this work is about the temporality of the
hybrid photographic image which combines contemporary techniques with
ancient techniques. Probably resorting to the photographic processes of the
19th century, we would be impregnating with finitude the digital images that at
first would have no end in an attempt to rescue the aura. Furthermore, the

temporality that unites past and present in a single image, through hybrids
between ancient and contemporary photographic techniques, makes the image
a kind of object where a controlled anachronism takes place. Knowing how to
produce images using the Van Dyke Brown technique gives artists the freedom
to determine, among other things, the duration of that image.
