RESUMO: O avanço das tecnologias digitais tem transformado a forma de prestação de serviços de saúde, oferecendo novas oportunidades para alcançar populações historicamente marginalizadas. Nesse contexto, a telemedicina surge como uma estratégia promissora para superar limitações de acesso e fortalecer a atenção à saúde em comunidades remotas, como as populações indígenas. Nessa perspectiva, o presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a telemedicina como uma ferramenta de auxílio aos cuidados da saúde indígena por meio de uma revisão da literatura. Tratou-se de uma revisão narrativa da literatura, cujas buscas foram realizadas nas bases de dados SciELO, PUBMED e LILACS. Os estudos analisados indicam que a telemedicina consiste em um recurso estratégico para ampliar o acesso à saúde indígena, reduzindo barreiras geográficas, custos e garantindo maior continuidade do cuidado. Embora apresente benefícios como integração com serviços especializados e apoio à educação permanente dos profissionais, ainda enfrenta desafios relacionados à infraestrutura, exclusão digital e sustentabilidade das iniciativas. Portanto, a telemedicina representa uma ferramenta complementar importante, cujo sucesso depende de investimentos em tecnologia, inclusão digital e participação ativa das comunidades indígenas para assegurar um cuidado integral e culturalmente adequado.

  • Abstract: ABSTRACT: The advancement of digital technologies has transformed the delivery of health services, creating new opportunities to reach historically marginalized populations. In this context, telemedicine emerges as a promising strategy to overcome access barriers and strengthen health care in remote communities, such as Indigenous populations. From this perspective, the present study aimed to analyze telemedicine as a supportive tool for Indigenous health care through a narrative literature review. This study consisted of a narrative review, with searches conducted in the SciELO, PubMed, and LILACS databases. The analyzed studies indicate that telemedicine is a strategic resource to expand access to Indigenous health care, reducing geographic barriers and costs while ensuring greater continuity of care. Although it presents benefits such as integration with specialized services and support for continuing professional education, it still faces challenges related to infrastructure, digital exclusion, and sustainability of initiatives. Therefore, telemedicine represents an important complementary tool, whose success depends on investments in technology, digital inclusion, and the active participation of Indigenous communities to ensure comprehensive and culturally appropriate care.
