Abstract: This study presents the importance of teaching methodology in the classroom, as well as the need for teacher training from a critical-reflective perspective that is capable of helping students in their search for knowledge construction. It highlights the understanding and relevance of Didactics in the teaching-learning process, the influence of traditional pedagogy on teaching methodologies and how the progressive trend is capable of promoting quality teaching-learning. It aimed to gain insight through research and reflection. A descriptive and qualitative and quantitative research was carried out. Through this study it was realized that teaching methods and techniques alone are not capable of promoting quality learning, since to guarantee the quality of the teaching-learning process, one of the determining factors are the attitudes that the teacher takes over as mediator. There was a need for him to be aware that to form full citizens, it is necessary to always carry out a practice based on criticism and reflection. This article shows that there are techniques that teachers can adopt to improve their classes, making them enjoyable and arousing student interest. When the teacher manages to show the student that studying is necessary for their knowledge, they will participate in the class of their own free will, as they know that they will learn to achieve their professional goals.
