TEACHING IN NON-FORMAL SPACES OF LEARNING IN SÃO GONÇALO-RJ: THE CONSTRUCITON OF GEOGRAPHICAL KNOWLEDGE
Os espaços não formais de aprendizagem têm promovido experiências significativas para pensar o ensino da Geografia e a leitura espacial da cidade. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a importância da leitura espacial de dois espaços não formais situados no município de São Gonçalo-RJ: o Assentamento Fazenda Engenho Novo – Sítio Girassol – e a Estação Experimental Climatológica da UERJ-FFP. Esses espaços foram visitados por 50 estudantes da Escola Estadual Moacyr Meirelles Padilha e por 40 estudantes da Escola Estadual Frederico Ozanam localizadas em São Gonçalo-RJ. As escolhas dos espaços, os roteiros de atividades foram construídos, portanto, para organizar a ideia de observar, descrever e compreender os espaços pelos estudantes. Com a aquisição dos resultados, a pesquisa conclui que a visita a esses espaços – como uma forma de proposta didática – pode despertar nos estudantes a curiosidade, a indagação e o senso da importância de estudar os conteúdos em campo.

Abstract:
The non-formal spaces of learning have promoted significative experiences to think the teaching of Geography and the spacial understanding of the city. This work has the aim to analyze the importance of spacial understanding of two non-formal spaces located in the municipality of São Gonçalo – RJ: the Settlement Farm Engenho Novo – Girassol Site – and the Climatological Experimental Station of the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. These spaces are visited by students of two publics school located in São Gonçalo – RJ. The activities guide were built thus to organize the idea of to watch, describe, and understanding spaces by students. With the results, the research concludes that the visit to these spaces – as a form of pedagogical didactics - canto arouse in students the curiosity, the enquiry and the sense of the importance of studying the contents in practice.
