SUSTENTABILIDADE: REUTILIZAR ÓLEO DE COZINHA RESIDUAL NA FABRICAÇÃO DE VELAS ECOLÓGICAS
O óleo de cozinha é largamente utilizado pelas famílias brasileiras, embora muitos saibam dos prejuízos que causam à saúde e ao meio ambiente. No decorrer desta pesquisa levantaram-se alguns dados sobre o consumo de óleo, destino correto após o uso e reciclagem. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida por professora e alunas de ensino fundamental de uma escola municipal de Bagé/RS, bolsistas do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPq, através do projeto de extensão universitária Mulheres nas Engenharias, realizado pela Universidade Federal do Pampa - UNIPAMPA. Durante o desenvolvimento do trabalho observou -se a sensibilização das estudantes em relação ao descarte correto do óleo residual de cozinha e um despertar para a reciclagem e possibilidade de geração de renda, que neste caso foi pela confecção de velas ecológicas.

Abstract:
Cooking oil is widely used by Brazilian families, although many are aware of the damage it causes to health and the environment. During this research some data on oil consumption, its correct destination after use, and recycling were collected. The research was developed by a teacher and elementary school students from a municipal school in Bagé/RS, scholarship students from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development - CNPq, through the university extension project Women in Engineering, carried out by the Federal University of the Pampa - UNIPAMPA. During the development of the work, it was observed the awareness of students in relation to the correct disposal of residual cooking oil and an awakening for recycling and the possibility of income generation, which in this case was by making ecological candles.
