Abstract: The psychologist often experiments professional limitation. As result, this work aims to construct an ecological framework of sustainable action, consistent with the UN´s vision of “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” This work`s axes are: “economy, environment and society, combined in order to achieve an economic and social development that is respectful of the environment.” The vision presented here is supported by systematized research, teaching experiences and field work. The rural environment is a living organism, formed by nature, people and groups in interaction. Ecological studies the nature and interactions of biological systems constituted in ecosystems (basic elements, and living organisms, from unicellular to human). The harmony of whole responds to intelligent principle of homeostatic balance. Imbalances can be imperceptible to humans. Yet, the may also be drastic, dangerous and global complexity such as Climate Change. Nature responds to an ecological hierarchical support system in which the strongest and healthiest elements provide energy for the weakest. However, this system does not translate equally in social systems. In the rural areas of Latin America, the possibility of contributing to global sustainability, may be limited due to them being inserted in a globalized environment that demands raw materials, natural resources, and food. On the one hand, urban expansion causes impoverishment and migration of the youth. The dominance of economic interests induces changes such as: other agroecological changes as improvement of arable crops as well as others agroecological changes. Tourism is introduced at the local, regional and transnational level. All influences affect the rural population in the social, family and economic spheres. Principles of psychologist: 1) Understanding of community, group and family limitations. 2) Understanding the constant decision-marking of community, group and family limitations. 3) Understanding the constant decision-marking processes that people have to face. 4) Accepting systemic thinking as a sign of sustainability and promoting attitudes of change to solve recurring problems or imminent dangers.
