Abstract: Reflecting the sheep industry productive and competitive, various technological alternatives have been presented, such as the use of supplementation. The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of Santa Ines sheep with the use of massai-grass pasture and supplemented with 1% of body weight (BW), using two diets, one based on corn and soybean meal, and the one with full root of cassava and soybean meal. It was adopted a completely randomized design in a split plot, with the two treatments plots and subplots two cycles with five repetitions, totaling 20 samples. The performance of the sheep was evaluated every seven days, after fasting for solids 12h00, the inclusion of cassava meal with massai-grass in Santa Inês sheep diet resulted in a weight gain of 85g.day in cycle 1 and 78g.day in cycle 2. The supplementation with cassava for sheep can be used as replacement of corn without compromising the performance of sheep.
