SUBSTITUTOS TISSULARES APLICADO AO TECIDO ÓSSEO
Fundamentado na capacidade variável, por vezes restrita, de diferentes tecidos em se reconstituírem, os avanços da ciência associam-se com o aumento da expectativa de vida e a longevidade humana. O tecido ósseo é capaz de se recompor após uma lesão. Esse processo ocorre dentro de parâmetros biológicos precisos e regulados; apesar disso, existe um limite nesse reparo. Dessa forma, há grande interesse no desenvolvimento de procedimentos que substituam o osso perdido ou que aperfeiçoem o processo natural de reparo ósseo. Neste capítulo são apresentados substitutos tissulares aplicados a esse tecido, e identifica-se que, ao relacionar a fisiologia com engenharia dos materiais, reunindo diferentes competências técnicas, a capacidade regenerativa transcende como alternativa de tratamento, impactando também, a qualidade de vida do indivíduo.

Abstract:
Based on the variable and sometimes restricted ability of different tissues to reconstitute themselves, scientific advances are associated with increased life expectancy and human longevity. Bone tissue can recover after an injury. This process occurs within precise and regulated biological parameters; nevertheless, there is a limit to this repair. Thus, there is a significant interest in the development of procedures that replace the lost bone support or that improve the natural bone repair process. In this chapter, tissue substitutes are presented to apply to this tissue, and it is identified that, when relating physiology to materials engineering, bringing together different technical skills, the regenerative capacity is a broader concept than alternative treatment, it also impacts the individual's quality of life.
