Abstract: This chapter analyzes the production of subjectivity within medical education, with emphasis on experiences related to mental health care. Grounded in a qualitative approach inspired by cartography, the study follows the processes experienced by students throughout their training, articulating different data production devices, such as interviews and the application of the DASS-21 scale. The results indicate the presence of significant levels of anxiety, depression, and stress, evidencing psychological distress associated with institutional demands and experiences of contact with patients’ suffering. The analysis shows that medical education constitutes an intensive field of affectation, in which singular ways of relating to care are produced, traversed by tensions between institutional normativity and openness to singularization. Based on the theoretical framework adopted, the body is understood as a territory of inscription of experiences, desire as a productive force, and assemblages as articulations between institutional, affective, and technical elements. The findings highlight the need to rethink training devices in health education, considering the subjective dimension of care and the importance of practices that foster listening, critical reflection, and the ability to sustain the complexity of clinical encounters. It is concluded that medical education not only transmits knowledge but also produces subjectivities and ways of existing in mental health care.
