STUDY ABOUT DETERMINING FACTORS IN THE CHOICE OF A DIFFERENTIATED PLAN IN SECONDARY EDUCATION STUDENTS FROM TWO CHILEAN SCHOOLS
RESUMEN
La realidad educacional chilena establece que la educación Científico – Humanista está “orientada a la profundización de las áreas de la formación general de interés de los estudiantes”, señalado en el artículo 20 de la Ley 20.370 (2009), del Ministerio de Educación de Chile. Por ello los estudiantes de segundo año de enseñanza secundaria deben seleccionar un plan de educación diferenciado acorde con sus intereses vocacionales.
Los colegios en los que se focalizó esta investigación ofrecen al estudiantado cinco planes diferenciados subdivididos en dos áreas: conocimientos específicos y conocimientos artísticos. Ante esta realidad, surgieron las siguientes interrogantes:
¿Qué factores influyeron en el proceso de elección vocacional en los estudiantes que cursan plan diferenciado en dos colegios de Chile?, ¿qué teoría prevalece en el proceso de toma de decisiones de los estudiantes al momento de realizar su elección vocacional? y ¿las expectativas vocacionales que poseen los estudiantes, afectan a las metas y a las acciones de elección?
La investigación abordó las interrogantes a partir de la aplicación de una escala de apreciación descriptiva y los resultados señalan que existe coherencia entre el Plan Diferenciado elegido y la carrera universitaria a estudiar, sustentado en la Teoría de Rasgos y Factores.

Abstract:
The Chilean educational reality establishes that Scientific Humanist education is “Oriented to the deeping of the areas of general training in Students interest”, indicated in article 20 of Law 20.370 (2009), of the ministry of Education in Chile. Therefore, second year secondary school student must select of differentiated education plan according to their vocational interests.
The Schools in wich this research was focused, offer the students five different plans subdivided in two areas: Specific knowledge, and artistic knowledge. Faced with this reality, the following questions appeared:
What factors influenced the process of vocational choice in students who study in two schools in Chile? what theory prevails in the decision-making process of student when making their vocational choice? and the vocational expectations that the students have, affect the goals and actions of choice?
The research managed the questions from the application of scale of descriptive appreciation and the results indicate that, there is coherence between the chosen plan and the university career to be studied based on the Theory of Traits and Factors.
