SONDAS GAMA PORTÁTEIS INTRAOPERATIVAS: IMPACTO DA METROLOGIA NA SUA APLICAÇÃO NO DIAGNÓSTICO DE CÂNCER ATRAVÉS DE LINFONODO SENTINELA
Na oncologia, a detecção precoce do câncer pode aumentar a probabilidade de sucesso do tratamento e/ou melhora na qualidade de vida do paciente. Neste contexto, o mapeamento de linfonodos sentinela é um dos principais atores no diagnóstico precoce, e a caracterização dos equipamentos utilizados nesta técnica é de fundamental importância para garantir sua efetividade, estabelecendo melhor uso e limitações. Este trabalho apresenta aspectos metrológicos sobre a utilização da sonda gama intraoperativa no mapeamento de linfonodo sentinela.

Abstract:
In oncology, early cancer detection may increase the likelihood of successful treatment and/or improvement of the patient's quality of life. In this context, the sentinel lymph node mapping is one of the main actors in the early diagnosis, and the characterization the equipment used in this technique is of fundamental importance to guarantee its effectiveness, establishing better use and possible limitations. This paper presents metrological aspects on the use of the intraoperative gamma probe in sentinel lymph node mapping.
