Abstract: Introduction: The Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE) and Callista Roy's Adaptation Theory are fundamental for individualized and holistic care in orthopedic trauma. The application of adaptation theory in clinical practice enables a personalized and compassionate approach, benefiting patients and healthcare professionals. Objective: Systematize nursing care for people with orthopedic trauma in the light of Calista Roy. Method: This study describes a Nursing intervention in the late postoperative period of a patient admitted after a car accident. The team applied the nursing process, following ethical guidelines and research standards, and using Callista Roy's theory. Nursing problems were identified and interventions were designed to promote the patient's adaptation to the hospital environment. Data were collected through interviews, physical examination and medical record review, using the NANDA Taxonomy. Result: To start the SAE, the nursing history is necessary for data collection, aiming to analyze problems that the patient is presenting, during the provision of care to the patient, the development of feelings such as loneliness and anxiety was analyzed. due to the state of contact isolation, a fact justified by the less frequent visits to the bedside carried out by health professionals and the absence of family members during the hospital stay in isolation. On the other hand, the advantages provided by distancing the patient from other hospital beds were greater privacy, safety, tranquility and a rigorously sanitized environment, not to mention the reduction in the rate of hospital infection also made possible by the contact isolation method. Final considerations: Roy's holistic approach is incorporated to understand the individual's adaptive responses to trauma. The study includes the evolution of the clinical state, systematic diagnosis and the importance of theory-practice integration.
