Abstract: Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) is a disease with no specific defined cause, and its identification has the potential to guide the development of control and treatment measures. SAH interferes with the quality of life of those affected, causing serious health risks in general. This reinforces the need to direct health actions towards preventive interventions aimed at improving lifestyle. This is a case study. This study was carried out by undergraduate nursing students at the Centro Universitário Doutor Leão Sampaio, during their internship in the discipline of Collective Health, in a Family Health Strategy (ESF) in the municipality of Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará. The Nursing Process is a tool used for the organization, planning and safety of the nursing professional's work, with a view to promoting, preventing and maintaining the patient's health. Applying the Nursing Process (NP) to a patient with systemic arterial hypertension enabled the creation of an effective treatment plan, aimed at mitigating and/or improving the clinical condition, as well as addressing the patient's psychosocial and psychobiological needs.
