SÍNDROME VESTIBULAR CANINA POR OTITE INTERNA (RELATO DE CASO)
A síndrome vestibular é um distúrbio neurológico causada por disfunção no sistema vestibular. A otite média-interna é uma importante causa nos pacientes veterinários. Referente a sua patofisiologia é pouco conhecida pela pequena quantidade de literaturas. A disfunção vestibular periférica ocorre por agentes infecciosos que lesionam diretamente no ouvido médio e interno ou pela produção de toxinas, provocando inflamação do labirinto (TAYLOR, 2003). Sinais clínicos como inclinação de cabeça, ataxia vestibular e estrabismo ventral ou ventrolateral devem alertar clínicos a suspeita de vestibulopatias. Casos de síndrome vestibular periférica por otite media-interna, o tratamento da causa primaria deve ser empregado, trazendo conforto para o paciente. Em um abrigo de animais, devido a grande população e um manejo coletivo é comum os animais desenvolverem otite. A importância da síndrome vestibular é que ela pode ser confundida em um diagnóstico clínico coletivo com patologias que cursam com sintomas neurológicos como a cinomose. O caso foi observado no abrigo de cães Parque Francisco de Assis, Lavras-MG, onde uma cadela, SRD, aproximadamente 1 ano de idade, pelagem amarela, porte médio, com suspeita de doença neurológica foi feito exame clínico com demonstração de “Head Tilt”, coleta de sangue para hemograma e limpeza otológica. O hemograma não constou alteração, feito exame do conduto auditivo diagnosticando uma otite que levou um quadro de síndrome vestibular. A cadela recuperou sem apresentar nenhuma sequela ou recidiva. Assim, faz-se importante um diagnóstico preciso, principalmente relacionado a otites que evoluem para síndrome vestibular crônica, para que animais acometidos e que necessitam de um lar tenham uma recuperação completa para serem adotados, o que é o objetivo do abrigo.

Abstract:
Vestibular syndrome is a neurological disorder caused by dysfunction in the vestibular system. Mean-internal otitis is an important cause in veterinary patients. Referring to its pathophysiology is little known for the small amount of literature. Peripheral vestibular dysfunction occurs due to infectious agents that directly injure the middle and inner ear or by the production of toxins, causing inflammation of the labyrinth (TAYLOR, 2003). Clinical signs such as head tilt, vestibular ataxia, and ventral or ventrolateral strabismus should alert clinicians to suspected vestibulopathies. Cases of peripheral vestibular syndrome due to media-internal otitis, the treatment of the primary cause should be employed, bringing comfort to the patient. In an animal shelter, due to a large population and a collective management it is common for animals to develop otitis. The importance of vestibular syndrome is that it can be confused in a collective clinical diagnosis with pathologies that present with neurological symptoms such as canine distemper. The case was observed in the dog shelter Parque Francisco de Assis, Lavras-MG, where a famale dog, SRD, approximately 1 year old, yellow coat, medium size, with suspected neurological disease was made clinical examination with demonstration of "Head Tilt", blood collection for blood count and otological cleaning. The blood count did not change, the auditory canal was performed diagnosing an otitis that led to vestibular syndrome. The dog recovered without any sequelae or recurrence. Thus, it is important to accurately diagnose, mainly related to otitis that evolve to chronic vestibular syndrome, so that affected animals that need a home have a complete recovery to be adopted, which is the purpose of the shelter.
