SÍNDROME DA EMBOLIA GORDUROSA EM PACIENTE DECORRENTE DE FRATURA TRANSTROCANTÉRICA DE FÊMUR ESQUERDO INSTÁVEL: RELATO DE UM CASO
A Síndrome da Embolia Gordurosa é frequente em pacientes vítima de fraturas de ossos longos com quadro clínico característico. Os sinais e sintomas aparecem entre 24 e 48 horas variando a gravidade em cada paciente. Este trabalho trata-se de um relato de caso de uma paciente de 72 anos com fratura transtrocantérica de fêmur esquerdo instável após uma queda da própria altura. Ela foi submetida à cirurgia ortopédica e evoluiu com a Síndrome da Embolia Gordurosa. A paciente foi acompanhada com suporte ventilatório evoluindo bem e recebendo alta médica após cinco dias.

Abstract:
Fatty Embolism Syndrome (FES) is frequent in patients suffering from fractures of long bones with a characteristic clinical picture. The signs and symptoms appear between 24 and 48 hours varying severity in each patient. This paper is a case report of a 72-year-old patient with an unstable left femoral transtrochanteric fracture after a fall of his own height. She underwent orthopedic surgery and progressed with a FES. The patient was followed up with ventilatory support evolving well and receiving discharge for five days.
