Abstract: Feline atopic skin syndrome is an inflammatory and itchy, chronic and recurrent dermatopathy that is only controllable and not curable. The main symptom is itching, resulting in self-trauma injuries due to excessive licking. The clinical presentation is diverse, with self-induced alopecia, cervicofacial lesions, miliary dermatitis and eosinophilic granuloma complex lesions being the most common. The diagnosis is made based on the animal's history, symptoms and exclusion of differential diagnoses. Treatment aims to control itching, with glucocorticoids and immunomodulators being the most commonly used medications.
