Danos causados por herbívoros

podem trazer prejuízos tanto para as populações

vegetais quanto para as populações humanas

que competem pelo mesmo recurso. Diante

disso, este trabalho teve como intuito verificar

como o processo de herbivoria influência no uso

de folhas por meio de uma comunidade rural.

A pesquisa foi realizada em uma comunidade

rural com 15 participantes através do método

snowball e foram utilizadas folhas in situ de

Croton blanchetianus Baill como estímulos

visuais. Como já era esperado as folhas

mostradas em bom estado de conservação

foram as mais escolhidos pelos moradores,

porém, houveram resultados inesperados,

alguns moradores indicaram que usariam folhas

com indícios de herbivoria por lagarta. Diante

dos resultados obtidos e analisados é possível

inferir que a herbivoria afeta no consumo de

folhas por populações humanas, por também

se tratarem de herbívoros.

Abstract:
Damage caused by herbivores

can harm both plant and human populations

competing for the same resource. Therefore,

this study aimed to verify how the herbivory

process influences the use of leaves through a

rural community. The research was conducted

in a rural community of 15 participants through

the snowball method and Croton blanchetianus

Baill in situ leaves were used as visual stimuli.

As expected the leaves shown in good condition

were the most chosen by residents, but there

were unexpected results, some residents

indicated that they would use leaves with

herbivory signs by caterpillar. Given the results

obtained and analyzed, it is possible to infer that

herbivory affects leaf consumption by human

populations, as they are also herbivores.
