A compreensão da capacidade humana de ler mentes é um assunto de fundamental interesse para duas disciplinas: a Ciência Cognitiva e a Filosofia da Mente. A definição ler mentes é entendida como a capacidade de prever e explicar comportamentos, questão fundamental da chamada Psicologia Popular (Folk Psychology). Esse artigo apresenta uma comparação entre dois autores sobre a capacidade cognitiva em bebês (3 a 15 meses), para, posteriormente, fazer uma correlação com dois conceitos em Psicanálise. Em primeiro lugar, procuro esclarecer o que vem a ser Folk Psychology; em segundo lugar, apresento os estudos de Paul Bloom do livro O que nos faz bons ou maus, o qual infere a possibilidade de uma moralidade nos bebês e, em seguida, recorro ao livro The Child´s Theory of Mind, de Henry Wellman, o qual aborda outras possibilidades de entendimento da cognição em bebês. Por fim, relaciono a Teoria da Mente em Bebês com o conceito de Insight, de Freud, e trauma, de Ferenczi. A conclusão desta pesquisa é a de que os bebês predizem e inferem comportamentos dos outros de forma muito similar aos adultos. A constatação da possibilidade de conhecimento empírico em tenra idade vai ao encontro de teorias epistêmicas, bem como à psicanálise, que compreende parte do processo de cura como o resgate das crenças da criança que no adulto habita

Abstract:
The understanding that human ability to read minds is a subject of interest to two disciplines: Cognitive Science and Philosophy of Mind. The definition of reading Minds is understood as the ability to predict and explain behaviors, a fundamental issue of the so-called Popular Psychology(Folk Psychology). This article presents a comparison between two authors about the cognitive capacity in babies(3 to 15 months), to later make a correlation with two concepts in Psychoanalysis. Firstly, I'd like to clarify what exactly is Folk Psychology, secondly, to present Paul Bloom's studies from the book Just Babies: The Origins of Good and Evil, which infers on the possibility of morality in babies. However, I'd like to mention Henry Wellman's book The Child's Theory of Mind which addresses other possibilities for understanding cognition in babies. Finally, I relate the Theory of Mind in Babies to the concept of insight from Sigmund Freud and trauma from Sándor Ferenczi. This research concludes that babies predict and infer the behavior of others in a very similar way to adults. Babies start to understand the world without being able to name their knowledge by language, but it is this functioning that will guarantee new knowledge in the later stages because it was formed where there was no language for speech, but other types of language. The possibility of empirical knowledge at an early age is in line with epistemic theories, as well as with psychoanalysis, which comprises part of the healing process as the rescue of the child's belief that lives in the adult.
