SIGNIFICADO DO TRABALHO PARA DOCENTES-GESTORES: O CASO DOS COORDENADORES DE CURSO DE UMA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL
O objetivo deste estudo foi compreender o significado do trabalho para os docentes que atuam na função de coordenadores de curso de graduação de uma universidade federal. A construção do referencial teórico fundamentou-se em quatro eixos: a função gerencial, a função gerencial na universidade, o significado do trabalho e o significado do trabalho para o docente A pesquisa teve caráter qualitativo-descritivo. Utilizou-se da pesquisa documental e de entrevistas semiestruturadas com os coordenadores de curso para a coleta de dados. Os dados foram tratados por análise temática de conteúdo. Como resultados destacou-se que a compreensão dos coordenadores sobre as práticas gerenciais começa com o significado de ser docente e de ser coordenador. O trabalho de docente significa prazer e paixão e o trabalho de coordenador, uma chance de colaborar com o curso, aprender coisas novas e enfrentar desafios. Desta forma, o significado do trabalho de docente está associado a uma fonte de prazer (ethos romântico-expressivo), e o significado do trabalho de coordenador a uma obrigação (ethos moral-disciplinar), o dever de trabalhar, vinculado com a responsabilidade e com a realização de tarefa.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to understand the meaning of the work for the teachers who act as coordinators of undergraduate courses of a federal university. The construction of the theoretical framework was based on four axes: the managerial function, the managerial function at the university, the meaning of work and the meaning of work for the teacher. The research was qualitative and descriptive. Documentary research and semi-structured interviews with course coordinators were used for data collection. Data were treated by thematic content analysis. As results, it was emphasized that the understanding of the coordinators about the managerial practices begins with the meaning of being a teacher and being a coordinator. The work of teaching means pleasure and passion and the work of coordinator, a possibility to collaborate with the course, learn new things and face challenges. Thus, the meaning of teaching work is associated with a source of pleasure (romantic-expressive ethos), and the meaning of coordinator work with an obligation (moral-disciplinary ethos), the duty to work, linked to responsibility and with the accomplishment of task.
