• Abstract: The discussion related to environmental issues have gained notoriety in recent decades. It can be said that nowadays the population has suffered from the devastation of resources, which has increased and made relevant the importance of preserving ecosystems and water resources. To understand the process of environmental degradation it is necessary to know the relationships between the elements that constitute the natural environment, to understand the processes, phenomena and behaviors of the physical environment related to the different forms of interference of human actions, for decision making. Based on these arguments, the objective of this research was to generate a database of the watershed of Ribeirão da Água da Leopoldina in the municipality of Bauru (SP), to allow the diagnosis of the area regarding the occupation of the territory and, as a result, the degradation processes; and the definition of priority areas for forest restoration aiming at the conservation of water resources. The result of the main classes responsible for the conflict in areas of permanent preservation in the studied watershed pointed to annual/perennial crops (agriculture) and pasture.
