Sertão! Até quando? Combatendo o "Efeito Medusa"
O presente texto busca inicialmente centralizar discursivamente o termo Sertão, verificar sua significação histórica e hodierna, suas descontinuidade e continuidades, buscando nas fontes mais populares, como a internet (por meio do Google) e dicionários (físico e digital). De quê forma o Sertão é divulgado e apreendido por quem vai buscar informações sobre o Sertão? Após descortinar os riscos, superficialidade e anacronia dessas fontes sobre a semântica do termo Sertão e de como esta região é apresentada pelos textos e imagens em sites. Em seguida buscou-se apresentar as transformações do Sertão do Pajeú, enquanto espaço geográfico urbano, mas também as de cunho sociais, tornando o território gradativamente luminoso, reflexo do avanço técnico-científico-informacional em setores diversos da economia, principalmente nos municípios de maior dinâmica de fluxos (capitais, mercadorias, pessoas...), tomando por base os dados médios do IBGE dos últimos censos (2000 e 2010). Verifica-se avanços, contudo, velhas mazelas ainda persistem, no entanto, o presente trabalho objetivou demonstrar um outro Sertão pouco evidenciado, um novo Sertão. O principal objetivo deste texto é desfazer gradativamente o efeito medusa que o Sertão encontra-se submetido a séculos, iniciando pelo Sertão do Pajeú.

Abstract:
The present text initially seeks to discursively centralize the term Sertão, verify its historical and modern significance, its discontinuity and continuities, searching in the most popular sources, such as the internet (through Google) and dictionaries (physical and digital). How is the Sertão disclosed and apprehended by those who seek information about the Sertão? After revealing the risks, superficiality and anachronism of these sources on the semantics of the term Sertão and how this region is presented by texts and images on websites. Next, we sought to present the transformations of the Sertão do Pajeú, as an urban geographic space, but also those of a social nature, making the territory gradually luminous, a reflection of the technical-scientific-informational advance in different sectors of the economy, especially in the cities of greater dynamics of flows (capital, goods, people...), based on the average IBGE data from the last censuses (2000 and 2010). There are advances, however, old ills still persist, however, the present work aimed to demonstrate another Sertão little evidenced, a new Sertão. The main objective of this text is to gradually undo the medusa effect that the Sertão has been subjected to for centuries, starting with the Sertão do Pajeú.
