Abstract: We present a didactic sequence for teaching cosmology aimed at the final years of elementary school, consisting of: an expository class, followed by the showing of a video, which culminates in the performance of a practical activity, which deals with the evolution of cosmology and knowledge of man about the universe around him throughout history. Through this activity, we seek to make students aware of the theories that, in the past, aimed to explain the universe, as well as the current ones. In the video presented, we discussed the importance of the Hubble telescope, its discoveries and contributions to humanity, as well as its future, and, after the presentation and discussion of the video, a playful experiment was carried out on making nebulae in bottles. The didactic sequence can be the opening for the development of more in-depth learning on the topic, or an opportunity for a unique approach to it, awakening and/or increasing the student's existing curiosity so that they seek to investigate in more depth. The proposal was experimentally carried out at the Fernando Rodrigues da Silveira Application Institute (CAp/UERJ) with very positive results. The simplicity of the proposal does not require the teacher who applies it to be an expert on the subject, making it possible for it to be carried out by Science teachers who do not have specific training in Physics.
