SENTIMENTOS E EXPECTATIVAS DE IDOSOS INSCRITOS EM LISTA DE ESPERA PARA TRANSPLANTE RENAL

Introdução: a doença renal crônica é uma doença crônica não transmissível marcada pela perda gradual da função renal por um período superior a três meses, sendo o transplante a escolha terapêutica mais adequada nestes casos. O envelhecimento é um dos principais fatores de risco para desenvolver a doença e, leva consequentemente, à inclusão destes pacientes em lista de transplantes. Este processo pode tornar- se uma espera prolongada e gerar sentimentos de descrença da cura, não resolução do problema e, consequentemente, sentimentos de ansiedade ao acreditar não conseguir passar mais tempo com a família e de não alcançar a melhora na qualidade de vida tão esperada com o transplante. Objetivo: compreender os sentimentos e as expectativas dos idosos inscritos em lista de espera para transplante renal. Método: estudo descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, realizado com 10 idosos inscritos em lista de espera para transplante renal. Para a coleta dos dados, foi utilizado uma entrevista semi-estruturada. As entrevistas foram audiogravadas, transcritas e submetidas à análise de conteúdo, modalidade temática. O projeto foi aprovado pelo comitê de ética e pesquisa institucional sob protocolo CAAE: 66283122.9.0000.5327. Resultados: sentimentos de ansiedade e desesperança são comuns no período pré-transplante renal, e aumentam conforme a espera se prolonga. Por outro lado, a expectativa de melhora na qualidade de vida e independência motiva a realização do transplante. Conclusão: a educação em saúde é fundamental para que os pacientes sintam-se mais preparados, informados e apoiados durante o processo de espera em lista de transplantes.

With the transplant. Objective: to understand the feelings and expectations of elderly people registered on the kidney transplant waiting list. Method: descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, carried out with 10 elderly people registered on the kidney transplant waiting list. To collect data, a semi-structured interview was used. The interviews were audio recorded, transcribed and subjected to content analysis, thematic modality. The project was approved by the institutional research and ethics committee under CAAE protocol: 66283122.9.0000.5327. Results: feelings of anxiety and hopelessness are common in the pre-kidney transplant period, and increase as the wait gets longer. On the other hand, the expectation of improved quality of life and independence motivates transplantation. Conclusion: health education is essential for patients to feel more prepared, informed and supported during the waiting process on the transplant list.
