SELEÇÃO DE MANDIOCA DE MESA NAS ENCOSTAS DA SERRA CATARINENSE
RESUMO: A mandioca de mesa é uma cultura tradicional, com elevado potencial produtivo e múltiplos usos alimentares. A seleção de variedades superiores é fundamental para o sucesso da atividade. O objetivo desse estudo foi avaliar a produtividade de raízes e parte aérea de cultivares de mandioca em dois locais de cultivo do município de Orleans, na safra 2017/18. Variedades utilizadas: SC 257 Estação; SCS 263 Guapo, SCS 262 Sempre Pronto, SCS 260 Uirapuru e a testemunha Vassourinha. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos casualizado, com três repetições e dois locais de cultivo. Os dados foram submetidos a análise de variância e médias comparadas pelo teste de Tukey a 5%. Os resultados demonstram haver diferença no rendimento de raízes das variedades testadas, com importante influência dos locais de cultivo. Nas condições do estudo, os cultivares Estação e Sempre Pronto destacaram-se no rendimento de raízes, massa verde de parte aérea em ambos locais.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: Cassava is a traditional crop, with high production potential and multiple food uses. The selection of superior varieties is fundamental for the success of the activity. The objective of this study was to evaluate the root and aerial part productivity of cassava cultivars in two cultivation sites in the municipality of Orleans, in the 2017/18 harvest. The varieties used were: SC 257 Estação; SCS 263 Guapo, SCS 262 Semper Pronto, SCS 260 Uirapuru and the control Vassourinha. The experimental design chosen was randomized blocks, with three replications and two cultivation sites. The data were submitted to analysis of variance and means compared by Tukey's test at 5%. The results showed that there was a difference in the root yield of the tested varieties, with an important influence of the cultivation sites. Under the conditions of the study, the cultivars Estação and Semper Pronto stood out in the yield of roots, green mass of aerial part in both locations.
