Abstract: Essential oils are natural, volatile compounds produced by secondary metabolism as an adaptive strategy of plants. They can be extracted using a variety of methods, with steam distillation, hydro distillation, or supercritical fluids being the most used methods because they maintain the desired oil characteristics. These are used as raw materials to produce a wide variety of biotechnological products. Their chemical structure defines numerous properties, such as antioxidants, antimicrobial, moisturizing, and therapeutic, among others. These molecules have attracted the attention of the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, which, with the new market model, are aiming for sustainable products with less impact on the environment and individual well-being. This chapter describes the cosmeceutical aspects of the essential oils of andiroba, rosemary, copaiba, geranium, grapefruit, lemon balm, and tea tree, which have properties for application in cosmetic products due to their physical-chemical and biological characteristics for consumer self-care.
