SECA E DEVOÇÃO: A CONSTRUÇÃO DO CRUZEIRO DE SÃO BOM JESUS NO DISTRITO DE CARIUTABA - FARIAS BRITO - CE
Seca fenômeno natural que assola a
vida do agricultor e do povo sertanejo; devoção,
comportamento de fé em algo que condiz a
esperança por dias melhores. É sobre essa
junção entre Seca, Fé e Devoção que o estudo
trata, sobretudo da construção do Cruzeiro
de São Bom Jesus. O campo de estudo foi o
Distrito de Cariutaba localizado na zona rural
a 18 km da sede do município de Farias Brito
– CE. Para realização da pesquisa utilizamos
como instrumento metodológico a aplicação
de entrevistas, visitação ao lócus em destaque
buscando delinear de fato o como, quando
e por que da construção desse espaço de
cultuação de fé cristã. A discussão inicialmente
procura apresentar a relação entre o fenômeno
natural e a religiosidade do povo sertanejo.
Em seguida apresentaremos o contexto
histórico, político e geográfico do Distrito de
Cariutaba e especificamente a do Cruzeiro. A
partir do embasamento teórico e da oralidade
das pessoas mais velhas da comunidade
que o corpus foi escrito. Vale salientar que a
pesquisa histórica é inconclusa tendo em vista
que ela é construída a partir do viés de cada
cidadão, entretanto, esse trabalho nos permitiu
compreender que o sagrado entra em simbiose
com as questões da seca e religiosidade
popular.

Abstract:
Dry natural phenomenon that
plagues the life of the farmer and the sertanejo
people; devotion, behavior of faith in something
that matches hope for better days. It is about this
junction between Seca, Faith and Devotion that
the study deals with, especially the construction
of the Cruzeiro de São Bom Jesus. The study
area was the District of Cariutaba located in the
countryside 18 km from the headquarters of the
municipality of Farias Brito - CE. In order to carry
out the research, we use as methodological tool
the application of interviews, visitation to the
highlighted locus, seeking to delineate in fact
the how, when and why of the construction of
this space of Christian faith. The discussion
initially tries to present the relation between
the natural phenomenon and the religiosity of
the sertanejo people. Next we will present the
historical, political and geographical context of
the District of Cariutaba and specifically the one
of Cruzeiro. From the theoretical foundation and
orality of the older people of the community that
the corpus was written. It is important to point
out that historical research is inconclusive in
view of the fact that it is constructed from the
perspective of each citizen, but this work has
allowed us to understand that the sacred enters into symbiosis with issues of drought
and popular religiosity.
