Abstract: The study aims to analyze the challenges and strategies for promoting mental health in the classroom, understanding its impact on students and teachers. It is based on a literature review of publications from 2020 to 2025, by authors who address the concept of mental health and its relationship with education, highlighting that emotional well-being is essential for academic performance, interpersonal relationships, and overall development. The school environment is also discussed as a protective or risk factor, emphasizing the importance of inclusive policies, valuing diversity, and adapting physical spaces. In this context, the teacher’s role is highlighted in mediating relationships, identifying signs of psychological distress, and adopting pedagogical practices that reduce stress and strengthen bonds. The study also presents the main legislation supporting inclusive education in Brazil, highlighting advances and challenges in its implementation. It concludes that caring for mental health in the school context is an ongoing commitment, requiring integration between school, family, and community, institutional investment, and consistent public policies, aiming to ensure quality of life, meaningful learning, and citizenship development.
