Abstract: Mental health is an essential component of general well-being and is closely linked to the physical, social, and economic health of communities. The Vila Nova Family Health Strategy, located in the city of Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, faces significant problems in the care of patients with psychiatric disorders, such as the lack of training of health professionals, the reduced number of consultations with specialists and psychologists, and the stigma associated with mental illness. Given this scenario, it becomes imperative to explore and implement quality actions that can be effectively incorporated, benefiting not only patients but also everyone involved in providing this care. The general objective of this work is to explore the need for the Vila Nova Family Health Strategy to adequately care for patients with psychopathologies, promoting quality interventionist projects. Currently, there is only one weekly mental health session, with a group of 15 people served, which indicates a high demand for limited results. The implementation of support groups and community therapies is seen as an extremely effective approach, as these groups not only offer emotional support but also promote socialization and the building of support networks, which are essential for recovery and mental well-being. The methodology will cover projects that involve active community participation, such as craft workshops, development of support groups, physical activities and educational programs on mental health. In addition, it will address the training of health professionals and the implementation of standardized screening tools. The expected result of this work is an increase in the number of patients with mental disorders seen, the expansion of longitudinal care and an improvement in the quality of life of these individuals.
