Abstract: This article reviews mental health, broadly defining it as emotional well-being and resilience, and explores the concept of psychopathology in Psychology. The study highlights the complexity of psychological distress, influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors, which require integrated interventions. The methodology was a narrative review of the literature in databases such as PubMed and SciELO. The results, based on 22 publications, show that Psychology (and its various paradigms) is crucial in promoting mental health, valuing listening and the therapeutic bond. The Brazilian Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS), a result of the Psychiatric Reform, offers territorialized and interdisciplinary care. Common disorders, such as BPD, OCD, PTSD, psychopathy, and ADHD, are addressed, highlighting the influence of relationships. Psychological interventions include various psychotherapies and contemporary approaches such as CBT, DBT and EMDR. The use of complementary pharmacology and technological advances, such as precision psychiatry, are also discussed. In short, mental health care requires an ethical, sensitive and interdisciplinary approach, integrating psychotherapy, pharmacology and technology, and considering social and historical dimensions.
