Abstract: This is a study aimed at describing nursing care provided for the health of the Black population, as well as its relationship with the National Policy for Comprehensive Health of the Black Population. The study adopts a qualitative approach and a bibliographic review method with an integrative approach, as recommended by Mendes (2008). Nineteen articles were selected as source materials to analyze the subject through a study on the comprehensive health of the Black population. Articles in both Portuguese and English with publication dates between 2005 and 2023 were included. Studies unrelated to the review topic, duplicate studies, and studies without open access were excluded. Unequal treatment and the disparities produced by society and the Unified Health System (SUS) were analyzed, including their profound impact on health, disease prevalence, and mortality rates. It was also noted that the National Policy for Comprehensive Health of the Black Population is unknown to healthcare professionals and is relatively ineffective, partly due to a lack of prioritization or ignorance on the part of managers who lack the necessary knowledge, resulting in reduced functionality
