Abstract: Objective: reporting the experience during climacteric consultations, highlighting the contribution of academic training to critical reflection on the confrontation between theoretical and practical knowledge. Methodology: a study in the format of an experience report, critical-reflexive, developed by medical and nursing students who are part of the Maternal and Child Study and Research Group and the Extension and Support Group for Adolescents. The consultation was conducted in January 2025 at the Basic Health Unit of the Federal University of Amapá. Results: a 48-year-old patient, who had been using contraceptives for 12 years without interruption, complained about vaginal bleeding for 14 consecutive days. She sought help, but her problem was not solved. From this perspective, raising hypotheses based on theoretical knowledge and epidemiological data about the patient is essential for correcting management and adequate guidance in these situations. Final considerations: this highlights the relevance of a correct emergency approach to a patient who complains of abnormal uterine bleeding, in addition to the need to understand the possible diagnostic hypotheses according to the age group. A person-centered anamnesis is essential for a humanized approach and to a critical reflection on the learning opportunity, which consolidates the previous theoretical content.
