ROLHA DE RESÍDUO: A INOVAÇÃO A PARTIR DO DESCARTE DE PALLETS
Um grande desafio da indústria é o destino de seus resíduos, principalmente àqueles que não são biodegradáveis, como é o caso dos pallets. O aumento do uso e consequente aumento do descarte de pallets tem sido despertado estudos a respeito de seu destino. Os pallets em bom estado são utilizados para decoração, entretanto, aqueles quebrados são muitas vezes descartados incorretamente. Considerando esse cenário, desenvolveram-se rolhas de garrafa com serragem de pallets. Foram utilizadas diferentes composições de selante alimentício e de granulometria da serragem. Para verificar a qualidade das rolhas produzidas, foram realizados testes mecânicos e comparados com o da rolha de cortiça. Identificou-se que as rolhas produzidas com serragem na granulometria de 28 Mesh e na proporção de 5g de pallet para 13 g de selante foram as que apresentaram melhores características para a aplicação.

Abstract:
A major challenge for the industry is the destination of its waste, especially those that are not biodegradable, as is the case with pallets. The increase in the use and consequent increase in the disposal of pallets has led to studies about its destination. Pallets in good condition are used for decoration, however, broken ones are often discarded incorrectly. Considering this scenario, bottle stoppers were developed with sawdust from pallets. Different compositions of food sealer and sawdust granulometry were used. To check the quality of the stoppers produced, mechanical tests were carried out and compared with that of the cork stopper. It was identified that the stoppers produced with sawdust in the size of 28 Mesh and in the proportion of 5g of pallet to 13g of sealant were the ones that presented the best characteristics for the application.
