Abstract: This study examines the role of teachers as mediators in conflict resolution in elementary education, highlighting its importance in fostering a positive school environment and a healthy classroom atmosphere. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, 12 teachers from Concepción were interviewed to explore their perceptions of the strategies they employ, the challenges they face, and their assessment of the impact of these strategies. The results reveal the predominance of practices such as dialogue, active listening, and emotional regulation; however, limitations persist due to limited training and insufficient institutional support. Despite this, there is a marked interest in strengthening social-emotional competencies. It is recommended that initial and continuing education be intensified, along with institutional policies that promote violence prevention and the development of inclusive educational communities.
