Abstract: The connection between Natural Science teaching and the realities of Rural Education has led to the use of accessible and sustainable technologies. Educational Alternative Robotics, made with electronic scrap and reusable materials, encourages multidisciplinarity and is more economical than conventional kits. This paper presents the development of the "Smart Irrigation" automation system, created at the Fernando de Souza Gomes State School in Rio Pardo, Rondônia, which integrates food and sustainability into education. The project discusses the concepts of hydrostatics and hydrodynamics present in an automated irrigation system, used as a practice that maximizes the use of water resources according to the needs of agricultural crops. From a pedagogical perspective, the open and low-cost Arduino and ESP32 platforms were used to develop Computational Thinking. This is applied, field, and action research with a qualitative approach, inspired by Maker Culture. The prototype features humidity and temperature sensors, which are monitored via Wi-Fi. The system activates the water pump for 30 seconds when soil moisture falls below 50% and generates automatic alerts via WhatsApp. Implemented in a rural school, the project involved approximately 80 elementary, high school, and adult education students. Smart Irrigation was part of the Healthy Eating project, with educational, technical, and health benefits. The project developed not only programming and sustainability skills, but also critical thinking, creativity, and the ethical use of technology, in line with the BNCC competencies.
