Abstract: This research aims at presenting the relevance of the musical rhythm as an innovative strategy to strengthen the cognitive process of the attention, founded in the contributions of the neuropedagogy that has as a research target the human brain. The rhythm takes an important place in the daily activities in children, being the rhythm the one that precedes the games for children, providing organization, balance and movement. In this line, the musical art facilitates the teaching and learning processes to make possible the activation of the neural grids and synaptic connections that take place among the neurons; which support the development of abilities,skills and competences that promote the integral development in children. By the characteristics of research, the methodological characteristics, the methodological focus, is qualitative, with an historic-hermeneutical paradigm and the ethnography method. The instruments for data collection were: the document analysis, participant observation, with semi-structured interviews to those who are part of the community of the educational institution Jardin infantil aprendamos in Lipaya neighbourhood, in the southwest area in Barranquilla. The results make possible to present the proposal of the musical rhythm as a mediation for the attention in the pre-school stage.
