RISK SPACES IN ANGRA DOS REIS/RJ: A STUDY ON FREQUENCY AND DISTRIBUTION OF RAINFALL
As características pluviométricas e suas variações inesperadas provocam impactos, principalmente em áreas com fragilidade ambiental. Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo caracterizar a distribuição da precipitação entre os anos de 2002 a 2013, em Angra dos Reis, analisando sua influência sobre a localização das áreas de risco a inundações e deslizamentos de terra no município. O intuito é responder se os desastres ocorridos nessa última década são frutos da maior frequência e intensidade dos eventos extremos e/ou das situações de risco criadas a partir da vulnerabilidade social da população e suas formas de ocupação. Assim colaborar-se-á com a redução das ocorrências de desastres na região, possibilitando a minimização de danos materiais e perdas de vidas.

Abstract:
The precipitation characteristics and their unexpected variations cause impacts, especially in areas with environmental fragility. This research aims to characterize the distribution of precipitation between the years 2002 to 2013, in Angra dos Reis, analyzing its influence on the location of the areas of risk to floods and landslides in the municipality. The aim is to respond if the disasters that have occurred in this last decade are the fruits of the greatest frequency and intensity of the extreme events and/or the risk situations created from the social vulnerability of the population and their forms of occupation. This will help to reduce the occurrences of disasters in the region, allowing the minimization of material damage and loss of life.
