REVITALIZAÇÃO DE ÁREAS PÚBLICAS: Discursos, representações sociais e ideológicas de higienização social
O artigo apresenta a reflexão e
a análise de representações discursivas e
ideológicas presentes em textos cujo tema
central aborda ações policiais conduzidas pela
prefeitura de São Paulo, na região conhecida
como Cracolândia, em 22 de maio de 2017,
sob o pretexto de revitalização da área. Esta
perspectiva integra uma análise textualmente
orientada, voltada para questões de justiça
social e justifica-se pela necessidade de
evidenciar como as pessoas são representadas
e como a ideologia da higienização social
é materializada no discurso. A metodologia
é qualitativa (descritiva/interpretativa) e a
análise concentra-se no corpus constituído
pelo texto “Cracolândia, a questão”, publicado
pela revista VEJA na edição 2532 – ano 50
– nº 22. O estudo toma como pressupostos
teóricos metodológicos da Análise do Discurso
Crítica – ADC (FAIRCLOUGH 2001, 2003,
CHOULIARAKI; FAIRCLOUGH 1999), dos
modelos analíticos de representação dos
atores sociais de Van Leeuwen (1997) e dos
modos gerais de operação da ideologia de
Thompson (2011). Os resultados expressam,
através das particularidades linguísticas e das
nuances de significado, a desumanização e
a estigmatização das pessoas que vivem no
ambiente da Cracolândia.

Abstract:
This article presents the reflection
and analysis of discursive and ideological
representations in textual productions in which
the central theme is structured based on the police
actions, conducted by the state government of
São Paulo in the region known as Cracolândia,
on May 22, 2017. This perspective is consistent
with the purpose of a textual analysis focused
on issues of social justice and is justified by the
need to highlight how people are represented
and how the ideology of gentrification materializes through discourse. The methodology
is qualitative and the analysis is concentrated on the corpus constituted by the text
“Cracolândia, the question”, published by VEJA magazine in edition 2532 - ano 50 - nº
22. The study is based on the assumptions of Critical Discourse Analysis (FAIRCLOUGH
2001, 2003, CHOULIARAKI, FAIRCLOUGH 1999), Van Leeuwen’s (1997) analytical
models of social actors and Thompson’s (2011) general modes of operation of ideology.
The results express, through linguistic peculiarities of meaning, the dehumanization
and stigmatization of people living in the environment of Cracolândia.
