Abstract: One of the diseases that has accompanied the history of mankind is dental caries, a pathology that occurs when there is an interaction between three of the main factors that condition its appearance, a diet rich in carbohydrates, poor oral hygiene and a favorable oral environment. Clinical treatments in Pediatric Dentistry to correct the conditions of the teeth of pediatric patients require techniques and restorative materials that facilitate their realization, speed, durability, compatibility, esthetics and functionality are aspects that the parents of these patients are looking for, Therefore, a general bibliographic review of the characteristics of three of the most commonly used materials in pediatric dentistry (glass ionomer, resin and giomero) is presented, without neglecting the fact that the success of the treatment does not depend exclusively on their characteristics and properties, and that there are other external variables to achieve the satisfaction of the patient, family and doctor.
