Abstract: Currently, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus is one of the nosocomial pathogens with the greatest impact on nosocomial infections. This bacterial resistance is encoded by the mecA gene which allows changes in the biochemical structure of the beta-lactam binding protein (PBP). The objective of this work is focused on developing a systematic review of the presence of MRSA in health personnel. The methodology used was a bibliographic search within the selected databases, thus choosing articles published during the last six years and that show a relationship with the presence of MRSA in the population described above. The results reveal a positivity for MRSA of 7.26%, being its most frequent isolation in doctors and nurses. The areas with the highest prevalence were the intensive care unit with a prevalence of 13.9%. In this way, it is shown that the human resource that works in health homes becomes a risk group to be colonized or infected with MRSA, thus becoming active reservoirs of this pathogen directly related to hospital and community infections. The use of prophylactic measures during the working day is the main key to avoid the spread of these bacteria
