RETRATOS DA DESIGUALDADE SOCIAL: REFLEXÕES SOBRE A PERMANÊNCIA DE ESTUDANTES EGRESSOS DE ESCOLA PÚBLICA NA UNIVERSIDADE PÚBLICA
Este artigo aborda as repercussões
da desigualdade social no âmbito da política de
educação superior, no acesso e permanência
de estudantes das camadas populares nas
universidades públicas. Discute-se as questões
trazidas por relatos de estudantes egressos
de escolas públicas atendidos pela política de
assistência estudantil em uma universidade
federal, ou seja, estudantes com marcas de
pertencimento e origem distintas do grande
grupo de estudantes que historicamente
acessou a universidade. Coloca-se em
perspectiva a diversidade de questões que são
pouco visíveis no espaço da universidade que,
uma vez existindo, não podem/deveriam ser
ignoradas.

Abstract:
This article adress the
repercussions of social inequality in the higher
education policy, in the access and permanence
of students from the popular layers in public
universities. It discusses the questions brought
by report of students from public schools
attended by the student assistance policy in a
federal university, i.e., students with different
marks of belonging and origin from the large
group of students who have historically
accessed the university. The diversity of issues
that are little visible in the university space is put
into perspective, which, once existing, cannot/
should be ignored.
