Abstract: The growth of platform-mediated work has significantly transformed contemporary labor relations, especially in the app-based urban transportation sector. Although this work modality represents an important source of income, the occupational conditions to which drivers are exposed contribute to the development of several health problems, including urinary retention, dehydration, and urinary tract infection. This chapter aims to analyze the impacts of app-based drivers’ working conditions on urinary health, emphasizing occupational risk factors, pathophysiological repercussions, and public health implications. This is a narrative literature review based on national and international scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026. The analyzed studies demonstrate that long working hours, limited access to sanitary facilities, insufficient water intake, voluntary urinary retention, and occupational stress significantly contribute to the development of urinary tract infections and urinary system disorders among these workers. An association was also observed between labor precariousness, physical suffering, and impaired quality of life. It is concluded that urinary diseases related to app-based work constitute an important occupational and public health problem, making the development of preventive, educational, and healthcare strategies aimed at promoting the comprehensive health of these workers indispensable.
