Abstract: The determination of compaction and the choice of equipment are essential in scientific studies, in order to contribute to soil studies and guidance for management systems. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the mechanical resistance of penetration systems in different land uses in the region of Tocantins with the aid of impact and digital penetrometers. The experiment was carried out at the Experimental Farm of the Federal University of Tocantins, University Campus of Gurupi. Soil compaction readings were taken at 4 depths: 0-10cm, 10-20cm, 20-30cm and 30-40cm using 2 impact penetrometers and the digital one in 4 land use systems: degraded pasture, recovered pasture, intercropping soy with mombasa and eucalyptus. The experimental design was carried out with 10 blocks in blocks, triple factorial scheme. The penetrometers, therefore, present 8 similarities of similar values, although there is no comparison between the equipment in some SUS and depths. Similar behaviors, however, the values for the impact penetrometer were more equal. The past recovery area of the equipment presented in the compacts, both in the past compaction values, while the recovery area of the recovery values and eupto presents the highest values in the deeper layers.
