REPRESENTAÇÕES DE GÊNERO EM “O ROMANCE DO CHUPIM DE MONTEIRO LOBATO
Através do conto “O Romance do Chupim” escrito por Monteiro Lobato na década de 20, esta pesquisa integra o painel configurativo nas discussões sobre as relações de gênero na literatura. À luz da teoria de gênero concebida por Joan Scott, teoria fundadora e propositiva de um estudo teórico que busca contemplar as questões referentes as representações de gênero no conto, nosso objetivo mira-se em demonstrar como a inversão referente ao espaço público x espaço privado na narrativa, é construída pelo autor e interfere na ação das personagens. Isto posto, para elucidar como o autor constrói as representações sociais inerentes a questão de gênero no período em que o conto foi escrito, dado a sua vinculação a um modelo social de repetição patriarcal fertilizado como “natural”, fazendo aparecer no enredo das personagens, um quadro acerca das elites do país e dos valores que cultivavam. Desse modo, constata-se que a perpetuação das diferenças relacionadas ao gênero, não passam de clausuras de significados a determinados sujeitos, sentidos forjadores do real por modelos sociais produzidos por um poder simbólico calado no discurso, dado a uma internalização das estruturas dos paradigmas dominantes inscritos em categorias nas pessoas ao longo da história.

Abstract:
Through the short story “O Romance do Chupim” written by Monteiro Lobato in the 1920s, this research integrates the configurative panel in the discussions about gender relations in the literature. In the light of the theory of gender conceived by Joan Scott, the founding and propositional theory of a theoretical study that seeks to address the issues regarding gender representations in the tale, our aim is to demonstrate how the inversion regarding public space x private space at the narrative, is built by the author and interferes with the action of the characters. That said, to elucidate how the author constructs the social representations inherent in the gender issue at the time the story was written, given its attachment to a social model of patriarchal repetition fertilized as "natural", making it appear in the plot of the characters, a picture of the country's elites and the values they cultivated. Thus, it can be seen that the perpetuation of gender-related differences are nothing more than cloistered meanings to certain subjects, forging meanings of the real by social models produced by a symbolic power silenced in discourse, given to an internalization of the structures of the dominant paradigms subscribed to categories in people throughout history.
