Abstract: Introduction: obstetric violence constitutes a public health problem because it causes impacts that violate the dignity, autonomy, and integrity of women at any stage of their gestational process. This phenomenon can also be related to the conduct taken in clinical practice, revealing gaps in the care provided to the mother-baby dyad and demonstrating the need to understand this phenomenon. Objective: To understand the social representation of obstetric violence among mid-level professionals working in Family Health Teams. Method: This is an analytical study with a qualitative approach, supported by the Theory of Social Representations and derived from an umbrella project. Data collection was carried out by convenience sampling with high school teachers from Primary Care in 10 units in the municipality of Campina Grande-PB. The sampling was intentional, non-probabilistic. Data collection was carried out using two instruments: a form for sample characterization and a semi-structured interview. All stages took place in a private room, and the data were recorded and subsequently transcribed. For data analysis, the qualitative software IRAMUTEQ® was used through the "Word Cloud" analysis, which allows identifying the frequency and relevance of the terms most evoked by the participants. Data collection was submitted to the Research Ethics Committee and only began after favorable opinion number 7,949,477. Results: The sample consisted of 47 professionals, among whom 20 (21.74%) were Community Health Agents, 20 (21.74%) were Nursing Technicians, and 7 (7.61%) were Dental Technicians/Assistants. There was a predominance of females, corresponding to 91.49% (n=43). The analysis revealed that the most prominent words, such as "patient," "woman," "violence," "professional," "childbirth," "mother," "doctor," "moment," and "baby," symbolize the centrality of the social representation of violence for the participantsThe highlighted words also revealed an association between obstetric violence and healthcare practices, the institutional context, and the impacts caused by this practice. Final considerations: despite the emphasis on humanized care, weaknesses persist in healthcare services. The importance of the Family Health Strategy's role in prevention, through relationship building, health education, and comprehensive care, is highlighted.
